Today we celebrate the birthday of the wonderful actor Richard Attenborough, who played John Hammond in Jurassic Park and in The Lost World. 86 years ago, pure talent was born.
Richard Attenborough has said numerous times that if Steven Spielberg asked him back for another Jurassic Park, he would jump at the chance. I for one hope we can see John Hammond another time in our favourite franchise. Let's just hope the producers think the same.
Happy Birthday, Mr Attenborough!
Steven Spielberg to complete Michael Crichton's mission
Date: Thursday, August 27, 2009 - 18:04 PM (Eastern Time)
Steven Spielberg has set out to continue Michael Crichton's legacy, according to USAToday.
The famed director and team of many classic movies has begun developing a Film for a posthumously published novel by the deceased Michael Crichton. The title of the novel is Pirate Latitudes and is set in the year 1665 and off of the coast of Jamaica.
According to the website 'Nuke The Fridge', the Jurassic Park trilogy and the Back to the Future trilogy are on their way to Blu-Ray! The rumor currently states that they will be available sometime in October/November 2010.
The email from NTF's source is as follows: "'Nuke The Fridge' you didn't hear this from me, but I just got word from Universal of a upcoming release of Back To The Future and Jurassic Park Blu-Ray release."
So hopefully the community can expect a much needed release of the Jurassic Park films in HD. It's also worth mentioning that if you pick up the WallE special edition 2 disc Blu-Ray set, then you can see a preview of Jurassic Park in HD. It's located in the Story of Pixar feature and it is the Gallimimus scene. It really does look stunning. This is also a rumor, but if you have the Signs Blu-Ray, there is a leaflet inside the pack which shows "future Blu-Ray menus" and according to one source, a Jurassic Park menu is shown. If you happen to pick this up feel free to scan it in for everybody on the forums.
Stay tuned for more updates!
