Did you get involved with "Jurassic World" because of Colin Trevorrow, who directed you in "Safety Not Guaranteed"?
Absolutely. Now, I'm also a huge fan of "Jurassic Park." When I was growing up and "Jurassic Park" came out, I freaked out like every other kid. I was born in '78, so I was, like, 12. If it wasn't Colin and someone said they wanted me in "Jurassic Park," I would jump on it. The fact that it's Colin, written by Derek Connolly (who wrote "Safety Not Guaranteed") and both those guys are personal friends, I'd go through a wall.
Johnson described more details about his role in an interview with the Website Vulture. He described it thus:
So youíre in Jurassic World.
I havenít shot it yet. I shoot at the end of July.
If you get to interact with dinosaurs, which one do you want?
Probably the T. Rex, but what Iím really excited about is the director, Colin Trevorrow, directed me in Safety Not Guaranteed. And the writer of that movie [Derek Connolly] did a rewrite on Jurassic World. That movie we did for, I think it was $600,000 up in Seattle, a 20-day shoot. I loved it. So to do that and now be doing Jurassic World together, it just feels like a fun jump.
So itís not the dinosaurs that are getting you excited?
You know, itís not real dinosaurs. [Laughs.] Iím the tech guy. Iím the guy in the booth, so I donít get to wrestle around with the dinos. Thatís Chris Pratt and Bryce Howard. They get to do all that.
I was just trying to get to your relationship with the original Jurassic Park.
I loved it. I was born in í78, so when it came out I think I was 13, so it was a big deal. So to be in that franchise is really neat. I try not to think too much about it because it trips me out, because in my heart of hearts I feel like I belong in little independent movies, where the fact that Iím in Jurassic World, Iím like, ďThank you!Ē It feels like Iím invited to a really nice party.
The studio showed a very basic CG-animated title teaser for Jurassic World that was simply a camera moving through the jungle with words over the screen as soundbites of John Hammond's dialogue from the earlier Jurassic Park movies is played. The teaser was just meant for the exhibition execs in attendance to let them know the movie is coming out summer 2015.
Colin Trevorrow confirms BD Wong in Jurassic World!

Colin Trevorrow gave an interview here with IGN about Jurassic World. He had this to say about it, regarding a returning character.
Trevorrow: I know a lot of fans want to see the original characters back. Theyíre iconic. But I respect those actors too much to shoehorn them into this story for my own sentimental reasons. Jurassic Park isnít about the bad luck of three people who keep getting thrown into the same situation. The only reason theyíd go back to that island is if the screenwriters contrived a reason for them to go. But there is a character from the first film who makes sense in our world. This hasnít been announced yet, but BD Wong will be returning as Dr. Henry Wu. He had a much larger role in the original novel, he was the engineer of this breakthrough in de-extinction. He spent two decades living in Hammondís shadow, underappreciated. We think thereís more to his story.

Irrfan Khan was recently interviewed by APB Live,, an Indian newspaper. They asked him about his role in Jurassic World, and he had this to say:
We start filming from April in New Orleans and Hawaii. I have watched the first one. Because it is a (Steven) Spielberg production and the kind of writing they do, amazing. One scene of mine is just four lines but it says so much about so many things. I play a park owner.
This confirms the new park plot, and it also confims that he is the owner of Jurassic World!

Ty Simpkins has posted on Twitter here. His tweet informed us that he went to costume fitting for Jurassic World recently. However, he indicated in a response that it does not mean that costuming is fitting. Likely what will happen is that after each fitting, tailors will adjust the wardrobe as needed.

In a recent interview with the Huffington Post promoting his new film "The Grand Budapest Hotel" Jeff was asked if he would be in the new film; Here are a few of the questions related to Jurassic World.
Mike Ryan:Is that why you didn't do the third movie, because Spielberg didn't direct it?
Jeff:No. Nobody asked me.
Mike:I didn't know that. I always assumed it was your decision.
Jeff:No, nobody asked me, but I was perfectly satisfied with the two that I did. I'm still satisfied with that and I'll be the first in line to see anything else.
It's also good to see that Jeff Goldblum is a fan of the series, and will be there with us on opening day.

Credit to member Robotpo! Exciting news! Recently surfaced are a script leak of what appears to be two pages from the Jurassic World Script. They mention a character named 'Hamada' In what appears to be the role of a gamekeeper. The second page mentions the roles of two boys (one of which appears to be that played by Ty Simpkins) it mentions them meeting their aunt (in a role played by Bryce Dallas Howard?) with the assistance of a Concierge. This is again highly indicative of a new park. Link to thread is here
