In an interview with The Playlist, Jurassic World director talked briefly about his role for the upcoming Jurassic World sequel and what to expect from new director J.A. Bayona.
The last time we talked you weren’t sure how involved in “Jurassic World 2” you’ll be. What should we expect?
We’re moving it into new territory. J.A. Bayona is an incredible director and I know he’ll push the boundaries of what a ‘Jurassic’ movie is. I think it’s important that we take risks. A franchise must evolve or perish.

Talking with The Hollywood Reporter, Jurassic World star Bryce Dallas Howard mentioned that she texts Producer/writer Colin Trevorrow pretty much every day asking for updates on the upcoming Jurassic World sequel
"I text him every day, pretty much, with messages like, 'OK, what are you doing now? What are you writing now?'" she laughs while standing on the red carpet at the MPTF's recent Reel Stories, Real Lives event.
While the actress didn't mention what Trevorrow reveals in his replies, it is known that an early 2017 start is projected with a June 22, 2018 release date already stamped on the calendar. It was also revealed earlier this month that The Impossible director J.A. Bayona will direct the sequel.

The Knowledge is reporting that a deal between Universal and a United Kingdom studio is "done" to film the upcoming Jurassic World sequel. This is the second time in about a month that there were rumors and reports of possibly filming in the UK.
Hot on the heels of the recent news that JA Bayona is due to direct the forthcoming untitled Jurassic World sequel, we can now confirm that the blockbuster will be filming in the UK.
From Amblin Entertainment and Universal Pictures, the film is written by Derek Connolly and Colin Trevorrow, with Patrick Crowley and Frank Marshall producing. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard once again lead the cast.
A deal has been done with a UK studio and UPM, which we will be able to make available to PI subscribers nearer the time of production.

Frank Marshall reiterates that director choice is imminent

Frank Marshall on Monday at CinemaCon spoke to The Hollywood Reporter and reiterated what Colin Trevorrow said last week that an announcement for the Jurassic World sequel director is imminent.
Marshall also revealed that he’s closing in on identifying a director for the planned 2018 sequel to Jurassic World, which broke box office records with a $1.67 billion worldwide gross. “We will [hire a director], very soon,” he said. Colin Trevorrow, who helmed Jurassic World, will not be returning to direct the sequel, though he’s writing the screenplay with Derek Connolly.
